Stick A Fork In Me

So I have traveled four weeks out of the last eight. With a two and a half year old. And three of those trips were to visit in-laws, mind you. Just call me Saint Cyberchick.

We are beat. We keep doing these drives in record time, but that just doesn't make it much easier. Today we drove back from Omaha in under seven and a half hours with just two quick stops and not a whole lot of food in the car. Unless you consider Fritos food. We were home by 3:45 p.m.

There are plenty of things I'd like to post about. I would love to write about these brand new ridiculously massive windfarms we saw in Iowa. Or the fact that I ate enough saturated fat for all of us this week. Or the funny things my toddler has been doing (after washing and drying her hands, AJ uses the paper towel to open the door of a public restroom!).

Anyway, APY and I have decided this has been too much. Next year we are not doing this. Family members need to suck it up and come out here if they want to see us. I know, everyone says this in January. But I swear, this time we mean it.

So if you are a friend or family member who lives far away, I ask that you come visit me. But you're probably not. You are most likely a fellow mom who lives in town. And I'll probably see you at the library or something next week.

I missed you in class this morning. I saw that thom was teaching and retreated to the bikes for 45 minutes. I was like -- Damn, I wanted my cyberchick time!

We always drive to visit my MIL for Christmas. It's a 20 hour drive for us. After doing this for over 20 years and not always enjoying the drive I finally realized that I have taught my 3 sons to always visit your mother for Christmas. Gives you a different spin on Christmas visits.
