I am really proud of my daughter for her airplane behavior this week. She didn't lose it once - never had a tantrum or a crying fit. The closest she came was when we found out the DVD player was dead on our last flight home ("I want oompa loompa!!!"), but even then she reigned it in. And who could blame her - she missed naptime and dinner and she had no pants. (Note to parents: never ever give your toddler too much juice during travel).
AJ is 28 months old. She has been on 20 flights over six trips and has traveled to New York, New Jersey, L.A., Chicago, Florida, Pittsburgh and Omaha. That is more traveling than I did in my first twenty years of life. We are going to New Jersey again for Thanksgiving and she will rack up four more flights. Good thing AJ has her own frequent flier account. It's so funny to raise her like this because I was really sheltered in terms of travel, and I can see both the pros and cons of it. I love that she sees so much of the U.S., but it is obviously a little sad that she isn't growing up with the close-knit family I had.
And guess what....I did end up paying to check my luggage. $15 bucks. I was so annoyed but my stroller situation changed and there was no way I could do it. Next time I have the husband with me so we'll have to see how much he's willing to drag around. Still need to have that one hand free for Starbucks.

I am super impressed by you and your little person. I could never had done that on my own. You rock!
Yes you could! It just takes a lot of planning and methodical packing of multiple carry-ons. :)
