So once again it's my husband, sitting about 20 feet away from me, who has requested a blog update. I guess we need to communicate better, LOL. So here's a brief summary of the last 5.5 weeks, the newest chapter in our blessed life.
- Let me just say that YES, I WAS RIGHT. I had so much anxiety over the c-section b/c my reaction to the spinal anesthesia was so bad last time. I researched it, I talked it over with health care providers, I googled it and by the time I was in the OR I knew exactly what was going on. I am constantly saying that you have to be your own health care advocate and in this situation it totally paid off. I ended up with the same anesthesia nurse (nice guy named Greg) and I told him exactly how things went down. Because I could communicate everything to him, he was able to keep me stable and the c-section went much smoother. The midwife (Ellen) I had asked to support me was wonderful. I asked for nausea meds immediately and didn't throw up once!! I am not so happy with my OB and the recovery has still been painful but I am really happy with the way the actual surgery went.
- I should also say that I am absolutely in love with my new little baby boy. :-) He is so very cute. Just adorable IMHO. A sweet little head, cute face, beautiful skin and easy-going temperment. Based on his initials he will be referred to on this blog as SPY or my little SPY guy. :) He is a great eater and sleeper and does not cry constantly the way his sister did! SPY is gaining weight so well and you can tell he just loves his family. I am so happy to have a snuggler.
- AJ has adjusted. She has her moments but for the most part she's doing well. She loves pre-school and also loves her brother. She really likes talking back to her parents; APY says she and I will be quite the pair when she hits adolescence.
For now we are all hunkered down in the house, staying warm and trying to entertain ourselves. More of an update when this tired mommy decides that blogging takes priority over dumbing out to mindless TV!

HA!!! I've still been checking but didn't feel like I could "request" quite like APY could ;) YAY!! I just said to dave how I feel like such a bad friend that i haven't been over. MK was on anti for ear infections..glad we didn't come. Now we're home from vacation so call you this week! LOVE this post and a snuggly boy. There is just something very sacred about a mama & her son...makes me all teary eyed that you already have it, YAY!!!!! love you guys!
